The Wavion Coverage Tool (WCT) allows you to measure the actual coverage and throughput in specific deployment settings. The WCT package, which is included in the Advanced Starter Kit, runs on a laptop in a car. You should drive in the area around the installed Wavion base station and measure coverage parameters like:
where there is coverage
what is the throughput in each spot
The results can be presented graphically over Google earth maps as shown in the figure below.
The WCT results are highly useful for your sales and marketing department. With this information they can focus efforts on covered areas or even specifically on regions with high capacity. This will allow you to maximize your network resources.
